Come one, come all to the Jia Yu Countdown Concert at Queensbay Mall, Penang, which features a string of artistes, including Hong Kong’s Bosco Wong.
Hong Kong heartthrob Bosco Wong Chung Chak is set to usher in the New Year in Penang with a resounding blast.
Although he has been to Malaysia several times on promotional tours, Wong is especially excited to be headlining a countdown concert here for the first time.
“I feel a bit nervous too as it’s the very first time I’ll be celebrating the countdown in Malaysia and I keep wondering what the atmosphere will be like,” he said in a telephone interview from Hong Kong during a recent press conference to announce the Jia Yu Countdown Concert.
Party time: Local group Storm is all geared up for the Jia Yu Countdown Concert at Queensbay Mall, Penang, on New Year’s Eve. It has been an especially fruitful year of many firsts for Wong who turned 28 recently.
Wong made his big screen debut earlier this year in the Lam Tze Chung-helmed Hong Kong comedy flick, The Luckiest Man.
The Hong Kong Television Broadcasts (HKTVB) artiste, who has been singing TVB theme songs since 2004, signed with East Asia Records last month.
He released his debut mini-album In Love with Bosco – a seven-track Cantopop EP – in Hong Kong on Dec 5 and can hardly wait to share songs like Chuen Gwok Dou Ngoi Nei (Loving You from All Angles) and Dai Gei Tin (Which Day) with his Malaysian fans.
“Since my album is out, I’ll be singing my songs for the concert. I really look forward to having fans sing along with me,” said Wong.
Apart from his new songs, he also has a surprise for his fans. “I’m thinking of bringing a special gift for a lucky draw. I hope that everybody will have a wonderful year ahead.”
